This WanHu buffing wheel is stamped 4″ x 50 ply, which makes it a 100 mm (4 inch) diameter wheel about 12 mm thick — 50 layers of cotton cloth around a leather centre. Wheel dimensions are listed on the wheel face by the manufacturer; the mm figures here are converted from that stamp.

Uses

Fits bench grinders, polishing lathes and angle grinders fitted with the matching mandrel. Use with the matching polishing compound: cut down first with a harder bar, then finish with a softer one. Run at moderate speed and keep the wheel moving — dwelling in one spot burns the cloth and overheats the workpiece.
