We manufacture abrasives and polishing consumables intended for industrial use. This page explains the warranty we give, what it covers, how to make a claim, and the safety points that matter when you use our products. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
Quality commitment
Products are manufactured to the specification agreed on your order and to the tolerances normal for their class. We control incoming materials, mixing, forming, curing and finishing, and we inspect before packing. Certification or test documentation can be arranged at the quotation stage where your quality system requires it.
What the warranty covers
We warrant that goods supplied will conform to the agreed specification and will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery. Subject to the exclusions below, the warranty period is 12 months from the date of delivery, or the shelf-life stated on the product where that is shorter.
What the warranty does not cover
Abrasives and polishing consumables are wear items, and their performance depends heavily on how they are used. The warranty does not cover:
- Speed — product used above its marked maximum operating speed, or on a machine whose spindle speed exceeds that rating;
- Application — product used on a material, machine or process it was not specified for, or with the wrong coolant, compound or pressure;
- Damage in handling — impact, dropping, crushing, or damage from poor storage such as moisture, heat, direct sunlight or contamination;
- Normal wear — the expected reduction in cutting or polishing performance as the product is consumed, including glazing and loading;
- Alteration — product modified, re-bonded, re-labelled or repaired after delivery by anyone other than us;
- Buyer-specified production — custom or OEM goods made to a grit, dimension, construction or print you specified and approved, where they match that specification.
Claim procedure
- Stop using the product and quarantine the affected quantity so the batch can be inspected.
- Contact us as soon as the problem appears, and in any event within the notification periods set out in Returns & Refunds.
- Send your order number, the product reference and batch code from the carton label, the quantity affected, photographs, and your machine and process details including the operating speed used.
- We open a claim file and may ask for a sample to be returned for inspection. Do not return goods without a return authorisation reference from us.
How we resolve a claim
Where we confirm a manufacturing defect, we will, at our option after discussing the practicalities with you, replace the affected goods, issue a credit note, or refund the amount paid. We may ask you to scrap or quarantine the affected goods. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
Safety and correct use
Industrial abrasives and polishing consumables must be used safely. Before use, always:
- check the product for damage and do not use a product that is cracked, distorted or contaminated;
- confirm the marked maximum operating speed is at or above the speed of your machine, including spindle speed under load;
- fit and tighten the product correctly, using the correct flanges, backing pad or spindle adaptor;
- wear eye protection, and a face shield, gloves and hearing protection as your risk assessment requires;
- follow the guarding requirements of your machine and never remove a guard to gain access;
- store products dry, flat and within the temperature range on the packaging, and observe any shelf-life date.
Our product pages and quotations give the specifications we hold. If your application is safety-critical, contact us before ordering and we will confirm the correct rating in writing.
Certificates and documentation
On request we can provide material declarations, test reports or a certificate of analysis for a production batch where available. Please request these at the quotation stage, as they can affect lead time.
